In a new feature to "Spring Into Sports," I'll be taking a look back at historical wrestling news from the pages of the Bedford Gazette. It will not be an everyday thing, but I hope to do so as often as possible throughout the wrestling season. Here's the first one:
On December 20, 1985...
Bedford opened its dual meet season with a 36-16 win at North Star, giving the program its 399th victory in history. The match was tied, 10-10, before a run of four straight wins by the Bisons that began with a pin from 126-pounder Robbie Ripple, who is currently Everett's head coach.
